South Africa's next chance for an Olympic medal rests with BMX star Siphiso Nhlapo who's through to the semi-finals after winning his quarterfinal this morning. He rides in the first heat at about 3h30 tomorrow morning.

Earlier this morning, amputee, Natalie du Toit finished 16th in the ten kilometre open water swimming marathon. The Capetonian is the first athlete that will compete in Olympics and the Paralympics. Russia's Larisa Ilchenko won the gold.

Conrad Jantjes has replaced Percy Montgomery at fullback for Saturday Tri-Nations test against Australia in Durban. Former Bok wing Breyton Paulse says Montgomery st! ill has a lot to offer the Boks after reaching a record hundred test caps. Paulse says the Boks need to play a conservative style of rugby.
